Terms of Service
Last updated: July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TheraFinder mobile app ("TheraFinder," "the App," "we," "us"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
1. What TheraFinder Is
TheraFinder helps people seeking therapy ("patients") discover and connect with licensed mental-health therapists ("therapists") through a short, low-commitment matching flow, culminating in a brief introductory video call. TheraFinder is a matching and scheduling tool, not a healthcare provider. We do not provide therapy, medical advice, or diagnosis. Any therapy or clinical relationship that follows an introductory call happens directly between you and the therapist, outside of TheraFinder.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.
3. Therapist Credential Review
Therapist accounts are reviewed before they become visible to patients. This review includes the license number, practice information, and (if provided) NPI number submitted at signup. This review does not constitute a guarantee or warranty that a therapist is currently licensed, in good standing, or qualified to provide care. Patients are encouraged to independently verify a therapist's license with their state licensing board before beginning treatment. If you believe a therapist profile contains false credential information, report it immediately using the in-app report feature or by contacting us.
4. Your Account
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information, and to keep it up to date.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the App. This permanently removes your profile, matches, messages, and scheduled sessions and cannot be undone.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, provides false credential information, or poses a safety risk to other users.
5. Acceptable Use
When using TheraFinder, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse another user, in messages or during a video call.
- Impersonate a licensed professional, or misrepresent your credentials, license status, or identity.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to solicit or advertise unrelated products or services.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data, or interfere with the App's normal operation.
Every user can report or block another user directly from a conversation. Reporting a user automatically blocks them from messaging you again while we review the report.
6. Video Calls
Introductory video calls are provided through a third-party video service (Daily.co) and are not recorded by TheraFinder. You're responsible for what you say and share during a call. Calls are intended to be brief introductions, not clinical sessions — nothing said during an intro call should be treated as medical advice.
7. Fees
Some features of TheraFinder may require a paid plan. Any fees, what they cover, and how they're billed will be clearly disclosed in the App before you're charged, and will be processed through the applicable app store or a designated payment processor. We do not currently charge for core matching, messaging, or the introductory video call.
8. Emergency Situations
TheraFinder is not a crisis or emergency service, and we do not monitor conversations in real time for safety. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911 (US) or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Do not use TheraFinder chat or video calls to seek emergency help.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any therapist you connect with will be suitable for your needs. Your use of the App, and any decision to begin a therapeutic relationship with a therapist you meet through it, is at your own discretion and risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TheraFinder and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, or from any interaction, treatment, or relationship with a therapist or patient you meet through it.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of TheraFinder after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Governing Entity & Contact
TheraFinder is operated by Brian Martinez, Saratoga Springs, Utah 84043. For questions about these Terms, contact mrtzbrian@gmail.com.
